OVERVIEW
The Diploma in Game Design and Development program aims to produce graduates who are competent in integrating theory, skills and practice in game design and development. Students will gain both technical and creative work, covering aspects of game mechanics, game design, animation, coding, storytelling and user experience. Students are equipped with creative semi-skilled employment for the gaming industry and have a strong values, professional ethic and attitudes to contribute to Malaysia’s creative industry. In addition, the program emphasizes the development of soft skills such as problem-solving, critical thinking, teamwork skills and entrepreneurial abilities to thrive in the game industry.
Students will undertake courses covering the core and elective subjects such as Fundamental Drawing for Games, Fundamental of Programming, Games Programming, Storyboard for Game Development, Game Design Principles, Character Design, Interaction Design, Game Project Management, 2D & 3D Game Development, Mobile Game Development and Game Entrepreneurship. At the end of semester, students will go for industrial training with relevant companies, allowing them to gain real-world exposure and practical experience in the gaming industry.
